Florencio Antonio Nina, 79 of Elizabeth, NJ passed away June 13, 2022. Born in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, Florencio emigrated to the United States in 1967 and had been a long time area resident. Florencio began his working career as a television/stereo technician at the former Magnavox Center in Linden NJ and later opened up his own service shop “Nina’s TV & Stereo” from where he serviced the Union county area for nearly thirty years. Affectionately known as “Nina”, Florencio was passionate about music, the arts, food and travel.
Florencio is predeceased by his parents, Jose del Carmen Nina and Maria Dolores Baez Nina; eldest brother, Jose Nina, and sisters, Sonia Nina and Luz Maria Nina.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of twenty eight years, Silvia Nina; his four children, Sonia Nina, Roslyn Nina-Cianfano, Robert Nina and Daniel Nina; Nine grandchildren ,Julian, Jodie, Brandon, Brianne, Salvatore, Luca, Mathew, Michael,and Anáis; brothers, Rafael Nina and Domingo Nina- as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 17, 2022 - 9:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Parish , 853 Third Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 East Jersey St., Elizabeth, NJ. A visiting hour will be held at the funeral home Friday morning from 8:30 am - 9:30 am prior to Mass. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, 350 E. Linden Avenue, Linden, NJ.
