It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Antonieta Felipe Tirado, “Mamá Toña” 95, of Roselle Park, NJ, who peacefully departed this life on January 17, 2025.

Maria was raised with a deep sense of family and community, values she carried with her throughout her long and fulfilling life. Her warm spirit and caring nature made her a beloved figure to all who knew her. Maria was known for her kindness and her ability to remember every birthday and anniversary, always making those around her feel special and cherished.

A woman of many joys, Maria loved the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed spending her time solving word searches, which brought her peace and satisfaction. Her passion for soccer, particularly her unwavering support for FC Barcelona, was a source of pride and joy for her. Above all, Maria was a gifted cook, creating meals that brought people together, sharing love and comfort with each dish she prepared.

Maria’s gentle nature and strong devotion to her family left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered not only for her warmth and thoughtfulness but also for the legacy of love and compassion she imparted to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many others who were fortunate to be a part of her life.

Maria is survived by her only daughter Cecilia Rioja-Cancino and her husband Gustavo. Cherished grandmother of Kevin and Kyle. Devoted great grandmother of Gustavo and Lionel. Maria is preceded in death by many of her siblings, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her remaining family members, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the cherished memories she leaves behind.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Monday, January, 20th from 4-8pm in Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey Street, Elizabeth.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, January, 21st, 11am in the funeral home.

Interment will take place in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

Es con gran tristeza que anunciamos el fallecimiento de Maria Antonieta Felipe Tirado, “Mamá Toña” de 95 años, residente de Roselle Park, NJ, quien partió pacíficamente de este mundo el 17 de enero de 2025.

Maria creció con un profundo sentido de familia y comunidad, valores que llevó consigo a lo largo de su vida larga y plena. Su espíritu cálido y su naturaleza bondadosa la convirtieron en una figura querida por todos los que la conocieron. Maria era conocida por su amabilidad y su capacidad para recordar cada cumpleaños y aniversario, siempre haciendo que aquellos a su alrededor se sintieran especiales y apreciados.

Una mujer de muchas alegrías, Maria amaba los placeres simples de la vida. Disfrutaba pasar su tiempo resolviendo sopas de letras, lo que le brindaba paz y satisfacción. Su pasión por el fútbol, especialmente su apoyo inquebrantable al FC Barcelona, era una fuente de orgullo y alegría para ella. Sobre todo, Maria era una cocinera talentosa, creando comidas que unían a las personas, compartiendo amor y consuelo con cada plato que preparaba.

La naturaleza amable de Maria y su fuerte devoción a su familia dejaron una huella imborrable en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerla. Será recordada no solo por su calidez y consideración, sino también por el legado de amor y compasión que dejó a sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos y muchas otras personas que tuvieron la suerte de ser parte de su vida.

Maria deja atrás a su única hija, Cecilia Rioja-Cancino, y su esposo Gustavo; la adorada abuela de Kevin y Kyle; la devota bisabuela de Gustavo y Lionel. Maria fue precedida en la muerte por muchos de sus hermanos, y su memoria vivirá en los corazones de los miembros restantes de su familia, amigos y todos aquellos cuya vida tocó. Su espíritu continuará brillando con fuerza en los recuerdos queridos que deja atrás.

Familiares y amigos están invitados a visitar el Lunes 20 de Enero de 4 a 8 pm en Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home, 1055 E. Jersey Street, Elizabeth.

El servicio funerario se celebrará el Martes 21 de Enero a las 11 am en la casa funeraria.

El entierro se llevará a cabo en el cementerio St. Gertrude, Colonia.
