Maria Alcira Herrera

Maria Alcira Herrera, 92, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Maria was a woman of warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

She was the devoted mother of Nuvia H. Costine (Scott E. Costine) and Jacqueline Hererra (Kara Davis), who were the light of her life. Maria's love and guidance shaped not only her children but also her cherished grandchildren: Edward J. Costine II, Michael Nelson Ali, and Alexandra Julia Ali, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Maria will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the deep love she had for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is at peace, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Friday, 2/21 from 7-9pm in Iglesia Cristiana Campamento de Jehová, 664 Newark Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208.

Funeral Service will be on Saturday, 2/22, 9am in Iglesia Cristiana Campamento de Jehová, 664 Newark Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208.

Interment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Shriners Children's OR St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
