William (Bill) Piga, Jr. of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.

One of six children, Bill was born on February 27, 1951, to Marie (Jakub) and William E. Piga, Sr. in Elizabeth, NJ. Following his graduation from Thomas Edison Vocational Technical High School, he served in The United States Navy aboard the Newman K. Perry. He received an Honorable Discharge and was awarded The National Defense Service Medal. From 1984 to 1999, he was the proud owner and operator of We’re Printing Today, a successful, full-service commercial printing business meeting the need for superior quality media for local institutional and government use. Later, he worked as a warehouse manager, truck driver, and security guard. Bill was a member of several fraternal organizations including Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 0229, and The Slovak Catholic Sokol.

A beloved brother, Bill is survived by a sister, Mary Courtley and husband Darrell of Randolph, NJ; a brother, Robert Piga and wife Janice Good-Piga of Scotch Plains, NJ; a sister, Elizabeth Tanzi and husband Anthony of Ocean Township, NJ; brother, Joseph Piga and wife Sharon Brody of Scotch Plains, NJ; and his devoted sister, Christine Piga of Elizabeth, NJ, as well as dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Las Rosas Bannworth Funeral Home in Elizabeth, NJ, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, from 2-6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Genevieve Church in Elizabeth on Wednesday, November 15, at 10:00 a.m.. Interment will be private.
